UA GSB  Announcements

Statement To The December 28, 2025 Public Meeting
“The UA GSB Inc., along with a significant portion of the UA Fellowship, operated for years on the basis that contact with the World Service Conference Planning Committee, the General Service Representatives Committee, and other UA service bodies, would risk our nonprofit status. As a result, these groups were labeled outside entities.

After a thorough review of meeting recordings, emails, legal opinions, and other documents, the UA GSB Inc. Trustees can now confidently say no such risks have ever existed nor does one exist now.

We apologetically rescind any statements to the contrary, as well as actions taken against these legitimate UA service bodies.

We look forward to working in a restorative process with trusted servants across the fellowship to undo past harms and heal our fellowship.”

The Quorum-based Group Conscience of the UA GSB Has the Following Announcements:

The GSB Commitment to Reunification

The principles of unity, shared purpose, and collective responsibility are already strengthening our fellowship. Together we can heal the division and restore trust so that the Underearners Anonymous fellowship can better serve those who still suffer.

In fulfillment of these principles:

  • The UA GSB will have a presence at the monthly meetings of the WSC Elected Trustees.
  • The UA GSB has invited the Group Service Representative Committee (GSRC), to attend our monthly public business meeting and offer regular reports so the GSB can hear the collective voice of the individual group meetings on a monthly basis.
  • The UA GSB is actively supporting a joint World Service Conference for 2026, planned in collaboration with the WSC-appointed WSCPC.

We believe open communication between service bodies is essential to building confidence, ensuring alignment, and keeping the fellowship informed as we move forward together.

This shared effort reflects our dedication to working side by side in planning, decision-making, and vision-setting for the future of UA.

You are invited to the next GSB Public Business Meeting

In the spirit of transparency, humility, and service, the General Service Board (GSB) of Underearners Anonymous warmly invites all UA members on Sunday February 22nd, at 3 PM EDT at the GSB monthly meeting.

UA GSB Special Convocation Results

Nov 30, 2025

Dear Underearners Anonymous Fellows,

Thank you to the many UA members who attended and participated in the November 22-23, 2025 UA GSB Special Convocation.

Throughout the Convocation, 105 unique logins were noted. Attendees included 39 GSRs, 6 Alternate GSRs, and 45 members at large, 2 IGSRs (Intergroup Service Reps from Mexico City and Iran), 5 non-voting GSRs and Alternate GSRs, 6 GSB Trustees, a Certified Professional Parliamentarian, and a Secretary.

A special thank you to all who helped in the planning and did service behind the scenes. We could not have done it without you!

The purpose of this Convocation was to address reunification, the #1 Topic of Consideration (TOC) from the TOC Survey sent out and gathered by GSRs at their meetings.

The theme of Day 1 was “Exploring Our Common Welfare.” Three workshops drew each of us to explore Higher Power’s vision for UA and gave us the opportunity for self-reflection. We also explored what reunification might, or might not, look like.

The theme of Day 2 was “Arriving at a Group Conscience.” A roll call confirmed the eligibility of all GSRs, Alternate GSRs, and IGSRs. There were 47 voting members. Ultimately, two motions were voted on.

The World Service Conference Planning Committee (WSCPC) forwarded a motion to the GSB. The GSB adapted the motion for presentation at the Special Convocation. The motion read as follows:

“Based on the Topics of Consideration and the motion received from the WSCPC, the UA GSRs of the Special Convocation move that the UA GSB initiate and actively explore a formal process of reunification with the groups and service bodies represented by WeAreAllUA.org with the goal of restoring one unified UA fellowship and service structure inclusive of all UA meetings and members worldwide.”

Before this motion could be considered, a motion from the floor referred the main motion (see above) back to an ad hoc GSB committee for further consideration.

The motion to refer did not pass. As per the Certified Professional Parliamentarian, a vote on the main motion immediately followed.

The GSB motion passed: 38 in favor, 7 opposed, and 2 abstentions. The Trustees did not vote.

Three minority reports were heard and recorded. The voting members were then given a chance to change their vote in light of the minority opinion. No one chose to change their vote.

We are deeply grateful to the World Service Conference Planning Committee, as well as a team of fourteen coordinators who organized many UA volunteers to assist at the Convocation.

Although the Convocation was offered free of charge, the suggested donation of $40 per person raised $800.45 after PayPal fees.

While the WSCPC-allocated spending plan was $2694, expenses only totaled $1825, thanks to many UA volunteers and the use of zoom polling for voting.

Given the group conscience at the Special Convocation, we recognize that we are in another growth spurt of Underearners Anonymous. In the spirit of UA Tradition 1 and inclusivity, your voices are welcome as we “initiate and actively explore a formal process of reunification.” This includes dissenting views and minority opinions. There is much for us to consider together, including house cleaning, inventory, and amends to bring healing.

The New UA GSB Trustees Letter of Intent

Dear UA Fellowship Member,

We’re writing as your new General Service Board of six Class A Trustees to share who we are, and where we stand as a brand-new, forming board.

Many questions abound about unity, service bodies, World Service Conferences within UA, and most importantly: how are we serving the fellowship?

We want to be clear: we are trusted servants; we do not govern. Our commitment as trustees is to honor the fellowship’s group conscience emerging from members, GSR’s, committees, and the World Service Conference.

The Pulse of Group Conscience- Topics of Consideration (TOCs)

Based on survey responses and preliminary committee input, likely focus areas at our next WSC include:

  • Potential reunification of UA service bodies.
    • Potential coordination/merging of World Service Conferences.
    • Meeting listing/delisting policy.
    • Literature development.
    • Finances (reporting, transparency, and budgeting guidance).
    • Potential revision of UA bylaws.

Every Voice Matters

Every opinion will be heard and recorded. Structured opportunities will be provided so all viewpoints can be expressed, and minority reports will accompany major decisions.

Groundbreaking GSB Public Inventory

On July 27, the GSB hosted its first-ever public Group Inventory, bringing together nearly 100 participants, including two facilitators and over a dozen past and current trustees reaching back to the beginning of the fellowship. The purpose was to restore trust, strengthen unity, and model the practice of housecleaning and fearless moral inventory central to our recovery.

Trustees reflected on powerful questions, such as:

  • Did I or the GSB ever act in conflict with carrying UA’s message to the underearner who still suffers?

  • Did I or the GSB ever misrepresent the conscience of the majority?

  • What spiritual principles of UA do I personally want to recommit to in service?

The feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Participants witnessed honest personal inventory, gained deeper understanding of trustees’ challenges and responsibilities, and appreciated the humility of those who acknowledged their shortcomings and impact. The event fostered a spirit of openness and connection, and we look forward to what unfolds from this important step.

Topics of Consideration Process and Transparency

Our UA GSRs indicated through the Topics of Consideration Survey that discussion of reunification is the highest priority topic to address at the World Service Conference.

Working to Let the Fellowship Speak Through Group Conscience

Posted June 24, 2025

Our trusted UA GSRs indicated through the Topics of Consideration Survey that discussion of reunification is the highest priority topic to address at the World Service Conference among the UA listed groups that responded.

As a result of learning of the priority topics of the participating groups, the UA GSB passed a motion to, for now, start by acknowledging that communications from the other underearner’s non-profit service body have been received by the GSB.

Next steps will be determined by a combination of further guidance from the fellowship as well as legal guidance about what is legally possible given the GSB Trustees’ legal and fiduciary responsibilities.

We intend to follow the desires of the fellowship to the fullest extent legally possible. Clarity on both will come after a 4th step/inventory process within the GSB.

Cleaning our own house will help us be of greatest service as your trusted servants.

Thank you for your patience. We will keep you updated and involved in shaping the ultimate direction of our fellowship.

In service and gratitude,

The General Service Board
